It should be noted that during the Revolutionary War an arsenal stood where Columbia now stands. Also it is believed that the Monacan Indian village of Rassawek occupied that site.
I suggest that Columbia have a revolutionary war reenactment. If possible they could have remaining Monacans construct a village. An event like this could bring in many tourists and revitalize the town.
