Maybe more importantly, you’ll learn how the county really works, and meet the people who really do the work. The next time you want the government to do something, you’ll have already talked to the person to get it done. And you’ll find a million ways that you, too, can help out and get involved. As Carol Tracy Carr said, “In a county as small as Fluvanna, one person can make a huge difference.”
After taking the class last year, I can’t think of a better way to spend two evenings a month. The Fluvanna Leadership Development Program is accepting applications until August 15 for its class beginning in September. Tuition is $25 and scholarships are available.
