Helping cancer patients

She suggested the following: The first step is to call 1-800-227-2345 (call 24 hrs/7 days a week). It might be that the family needs to move to a Hope Lodge, where they would stay for free during treatments, and rides to and from (he and one caregiver stay for free for as long as Csaba needs treatments) – closest are Baltimore, MD and Greenville, NC. But there are many other free programs and services for Csaba.

If he needs to stay in Fluvanna, there may be gas cards, rides, but most importantly an ACS patient navigator at UVA, and when he (or the family) calls the 800 number, he will be connected with a cancer specialist. There is lots of free help, someone just needs to call (they also have translators, but I’m not sure how many languages). They will work with Medicare. etc and also ACS works with countries worldwide – we are not just in the U.S. Let me know if I can be of more help!

This information applies to anyone in Csaba’s place.

If you need any help dealing with any aspect of cancer, ACS is there to help with amazing resources. Some of the $85,000 we raised at Relay for Life/Fluvanna goes to fund these types of services.

This is the type of community we live in! Everyone is willing to help, even strangers. I am proud to call myself a Fluco.
