Bill is someone who works tirelessly to educate himself on issues and to inform others. He is his own man and brings his experiences to the table to help make decisions. He shares his opinions openly and coherently with others and respects their opinions. He is an honorable man, committed to the betterment of the community in which he lives. He serves the community, not for prestige, not for a party, but out of a sense of doing the right thing.
Bill was appointed to fill a vacancy on the board from a broad selection of candidates. The board that appointed him was made up of men and women; African and white Americans; Republicans, Democrats and Independents. He received my vote because he was passionate, informed and I believed he would serve our community well. I believe he did. He was in the schools and in the community listening, learning and advocating for our children. That is the kind of board member that serves our community well.
I would urge the voters in the Cunningham District to vote for William “Bill” Hughes on Nov. 5. We have had many close races in our community, so please remember to get out and vote. Your vote does count and it does matter.
